World No Tobacco Day




World No Tobacco Day is celebrated on May 21 every year. This year's theme is "Get Ready for Plain Packaging". The purpose behind using plain tobacco packaging is to reduce the attractiveness of its products as well as to ban misleading packaging and labeling. This will also help to destroy tobacco advertising and its promotion. In addition, health warning graphics will also be used in plain paper packaging.




The purpose of this day is to raise awareness among the people about the ill effects and effects of tobacco and to encourage individuals to take seriously the seriousness of its bad habits.

The main purpose of this scheme is to send a mail to "quittobacco@gov.in" as well as to inform the masses about the effects of tobacco use at regular intervals.
